My pleasure, David. Thanks so much for joining us.

What do you think about having a thread called The Writer's Corner or some such? It wouldn't have to be jazz-related content, but if it were, that would be a plus.

Btw, did anybody hopefully invite Steve Lake to come over here?

No, but I thought about it, then forgot to in the heat of many recent moments. :)

Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Jazz Corner Posters MIA

Sorry, Douglas, somehow I missed you.

I sent an invitation to Ellery Eskelin.

I also sent one to David Gitin.

Sure would like to see the presence of "The Preacher" here.

Thanks for the update on SqDCSteve, Sergio.

Onward and upward.

OK, now I see what you're saying. You're right, it's a painfully slow, page-by-page capture. But it works.

Thanks.

Jazz Corner Posters MIA

We're very happy that a nice group of former JC posters have joined us for his inaugural "flight". However, there are a number of friends who may not be hip to this new endeavor. So, if you have their e-mail address, phone number or other means to contact them, please extend an invitation ...

Re: JC Archives

I'm still not seeing how you're getting to the newer board, post 2003. I know what thread titles I want to save, but I would like it if someone could point me to a valid link to see those newer forums. I know how to Google, but that's not enough to dig through this newer database, which is now shut ...

JC Archives

Let's share tips and suggestions for finding and saving threads, posts, etc. from Jazz Corner.

The archives from 2003 back are pretty straightforward to locate and look at, inasmuch as they were "formally" archived at the time the new software was introduced.

Duke Ellington
Ella Fitzgerald
Bill Evans

Re: 10 Musicians You Wish You'd Gotten to Meet- FROM JC ARCH

Lucky, indeed, June.

Alan and Tony were extraordinary people and musicians.

Studying with Alan at the same time he was working with Tony was an amazing crossing of paths, especially for a young kid who came to Boston all the way from his new home in Alaska.

Sorry, BT, but that URL doesn't take me to an archive. It defaults straight to the JazzCorner Home Page. At least, it does on Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

I'm also very encouraged by what we've experienced on this new experiment. Scott & I were certainly familiar with the format, but not all of what makes it come to life. We still have much to learn, but appreciate the spirit that folks are bringing to this new endeavor. Thanks, and please feel fr...

That honorific was bestowed upon me many years ago by Lois Gilbert. And, I was honored.

Happy Birthday, America!

This is a birthday when we traditionally go a bit nuts, with food, drink and ... fireworks. Tonight, for the 1st time, I actually heard the decree from our former president, John Adams, to celebrate with fireworks: The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of Amer...

I received a PM, but am unable to respond. There's no "respond" option and when I try to use "compose message," I'm told that I'm not "authorised" to use that feature. Also, there's no way of going to the sender's profile in order to send them a PM from there. I'm sure...
